asp.net vs jsp

Urgent Help…… For ASP.NET v/s JSP. What is the difference.?

What is the difference between ASP.NET and JSP. Which is the best language to learn, what are the good and bad part of both. Please Help……..

ASP.NET stands for “Active Server Pages .NET” and is Microsoft technology that runs on the .NET platform. Most developers use Visual Studio .NET to develop .NET applications. Visual Studio is not free, so you would have to purchase it. I believe there are also some alternatives to Visual Studio out there. The nice thing about ASP.NET is that is it is basically HTML with a code behind page. You can create the code behind page in a variety of languages (e.g. Visual Basic.NET, C#, etc.)

JSP is JavaServer Pages and is Sun technology. It is more platform independent. A JavaServer Page may be broken down into:
-static data such as HTML,
-JSP directives such as the include directive,
-JSP scripting elements and variables,
-JSP actions,
-custom tags

I’ve only ever used .NET, but there are definitely sites out there that use JSP. There’s a lot more information about both technologies available online, if you need to know more.
