The ‘read more’ option on my Joomla site does not work?
When I click the button at the bottom of the article to split the page so that a read more link is generated nothing happens.
I click the button and a line appears across the page but when I save the article and go to the live website all the text shows anyway and there is no read more button….any help?
Hi,
thanks for your answer, all the parameters for read more are at show.
Do you know if there’s anything else I need to do :/
You seem to have the “read more” option turned off in your parameters.
When you edit the article in the back end, there should be a list of parameters on the right. check to make sure the “show read more” option is turned on.
It could also be in the parameters for the link to the page, i didn’t think of that earlier.
Edit.
Wait, i’m not sure if i read the question right. When the article is on the home page and the section blog and category blog pages the read more button will show. The read more link then links to the regular article page, where all of the text is shown. If you’re already on the article layout then I think what it is supposed to do is show everything.
So, depending on the size of you’re site, i guess if you needed read-more buttons you could separate the articles into different categories and link to a category blog layout with 1 article?
